OrthAlign, Inc., a Smart Technologies, growing medical device company, has an immediate opening for a Professional Education Manager.  Reporting to and working with the Sr. Manager of Professional Education, you will be instrumental in creating, implementing, and managing instructor-led training courses, new-product launch training, cadaveric surgeon training, online training courses and virtual training environments.  This role will eventually assume the responsibility of managing new hire onboarding.  Expected travel is 65%-70%, including some weekends.

 

You will:

Provide Instructor-Led Training & Program Support

  • Work with the Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to train distributor sales reps
  • Coordinate training events with the RSMs
  • Conduct training events as needed
  • Coordinate and assist with surgeon training and cadaver labs
  • Onboard and train new hires
  • Attend surgical cases on an “as-needed” basis
  • Utilize the CRM to create and manage new events and programs
  • Sustain and improve the vendor credentialing program


    Manage the On-Line Learning Management Systems (LMS)

    • Manage OrthAlign Academy
    • Assign learning paths, courses, modules and informational materials
    • Organize training teams and individuals in LMS
    • Create and run LMS progress reports for teams and individuals
    • Create online courses using the LMS course maker
    • Create subsequent online assessments using LMS assessment tools


    Create Content

    • Work with professional education, marketing, and product management teams to create training content
    • Organize and track training documentation (assessments, sign-sheets, etc.)
    • Create instructional videos for the safe and effective use of OrthAlign products
    • Create subsequent online assessments using LMS assessment tool


    Run Virtual Training

    • Create content that is effective for a virtual training environment
    • Coordinate to conduct the training from a quiet location with ambient light and high-speed internet
    • Coordinate and conduct training webinars for surgeons and distributors (US and International)
    • Create surveys to collect feedback on ways to improve the virtual training program


    You need:

    • An advanced 4-year degree, preferably in life sciences
    • 4+ years of experience in medical device, preferably in orthopedics with computer assisted surgery/robotics
    • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook)
    • Experience with Online Learning Management Systems (preferred)
    • Experience creating content using video editing software (preferred)
    • Ability to effectively speak and communicate in front of small and medium groups
    • High organizational skills required
    • Self-directed approach balanced with initiative to secure adequate information to complete projects on time
    • Ability to work well with multi-disciplinary teams
    • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of total knee and total hip procedures (a MUST)
